Skiing in Switzerland

Switzerland is always the first choice for a winter holiday because it has a large selection of winter sports areas. It is a place for every taste: there are a lot of romantic chalets in the mountain villages and big hostels in the large cities with numerous possibilities for going out. Switzerland has great ski slopes, perfect slope facilities and a wild night-life. Switzerland actually has a reputation as one of the more expensive European ski resorts, but it is a great value for the money.

The resorts in Krkonoše include Špindlerův Mlýn (Svatý Petr), Harrachov, Pec pod Sněžkou and Prkenný Důl – Family Skipark. At the hotel Krakonos in Rokytnice nad Jizerou you can book rooms from 20€ per person!

Skiing in France

In France you will find huge ski areas, modern and fast ski lifts, long slopes and spectacular downhill runs – it is an area for true skiers! Skiing in France is fun, has great food and has a very nice atmosphere. France is an expensive ski destination, but with great value-for-money options. The French Alps offer the broadest range of skiing opportunities in Europe. Resorts that are based on long-existing small towns, such as La Clusaz, Aussois or Serre-Chevalier, near Briançon, offer an authentic Alpine experience. Chamonix – Megève , Les Portes du Soleil, the northernmost area, includes a dozen resorts, including Avoriaz – reputedly the capital of snowboarding – and Morzine. At the hotel Kyriad Grenoble Voiron you will spend about 30€ per night, which leaves plenty of money left to spend on the rest of your trip!
